| Welcome to the Courtyard at the heart of Schull here in West Cork Café, patisserie, events and functions, and the renowned Gwen’s Chocolates, all on one beautifully atmospheric site – impossible to resist! |

Gwen Lasserre has become well-known for his shop in Schull selling hand-made chocolates. Having succeeded as our own, West Cork French chocolatier, Gwen and his wife, Claire, decided in 2011 to take on the empty Courtyard complex and widen their business horizons with a number of new ventures. They then made their plans and worked extremely hard to bring this iconic site in the centre of Schull back to its former glory. “We knew how much this place had meant to people over the years,” said Gwen. “It was very important to us that they continued to feel that it was a vital part of the community.” |

The revitalised Courtyard features Gwen’s Chocolates, a Patisserie and a Café, as well as being able to accommodate functions such as weddings, christenings, confirmations, launches and parties. Later, it is also planned to be able to stage cookery demonstrations and similar events. |

The Café menu includes a plat de jour. In addition, breakfasts are also served, from light bites such as scones and croissants to The Full Irish. Party bookings for breakfast are quite possible; the largest so far was a party of 50! |

Events and parties can be catered for and the Courtyard has so far hosted both the Launch and the Last Night Party for the 2012 Fastnet Short Film Festival, the Schull Debs in July, as well as a special birthday celebration and a dinner for over 50 guests. |

We are open 7 days a week:
Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM
We stay open into the winter but close during January
